Yes , unlike popular opinion...you do not need system design and dsa for cracking product based companies. As a tpm , you can crack these by using the concepts of project managemnet , agile and scrum. I can help you in this journey as a TPM in samsung. Please schedule a session with me for more information.

Hi Biswajit.

Getting hired at a top technology company like Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Netflix or Google (together known as MAANG) is a dream for many tech professionals. These companies are extremely prestigious, offer some of the best perks and compensation in the industry, and look great on your resume.

However, the interview preparation required to land a job at MAANG is no cakewalk. Their interview processes are grueling with very low offer-to-interview ratios. So doing your homework is an absolute must. Here are my top 7 tips on how to effectively prepare:

1. Know the Job Description Cold

The first step is thoroughly analyzing the job description to understand the exact skills and qualifications required for the role. This gives you a blueprint to prepare accordingly and also help frame better answers.

2. Perfect Your Resume

These companies can afford to be highly selective given the high volume of applicants. So you need a resume that stands out. Quantify your accomplishments, highlight relevant projects and results, and customize it to align with the job description.

3. Practice Mock Interviews

Practice makes perfect! Make full use of online platforms like Interviewing.io to take mock interviews in coding and system design. Constantly test yourself to get comfortable thinking on your feet.

4. Deep Dive into Fundamentals

Revise all important CS fundamentals thoroughly - algorithms, data structures, networking etc. These form the basis of most technical interview questions. Strengthening your basics is key.

5. Stay Up-To-Date on Industry News

For behavioral interviews, you need to demonstrate excellent business acumen. Consume tech news daily and be well-informed on the latest trends and innovations.

6. Work on Your Pet Projects

Top companies look for engineers who are passionate about building technology outside of work too. Work on open source contributions or develop side projects to showcase your skills.

7. Leverage Referrals

Employee referrals could make your resume stand out from the crowd. Reach out to your network in your target companies to utilize possible connections.

Preparing for FAANG interviews requires rigorous efforts. Use these tips and with systematic preparation over 3-6 months, you can vastly improve your chances. Best of luck!

Happy Learning!
